PHOTO: "The Genderbread Person" event in a dorm cafeteria at Oregon State University will be decorating gingerbread cookies to teach gender theory. "In an effort to educate students about gender and sexual identity, University Housing and Dining Services and The Pride Center will host "Gender Our Cookie" in Arnold Dining Hall today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., where students decorate gingerbread cookies to illustrate the gender spectrum. . . . Brandi Douglas, Interim Assistant Director of Diversity Initiatives and Programs, said that the idea of decorating cookies during the event derives from a popular educational infographic called "The Genderbread Person." The infographic uses a gingerbread cookie as a model to teach about the deconstruction of gender into certain components."
